New year. New me.

A favourite 'try something new' of mine is fitness programs. I’ve explored a wide range of apps and communities. Some challenged me, some surprised me and all of them taught me something new about how I move, eat and stay motivated. I've captured a review of the different approaches I've tried and what I've taken away from each one.

The Six Pack Revolution

The Six Pack Revolution (SPR) is a 75-day program that combines structured workouts, meal plans, and daily accountability. What stood out for me was the discipline it required – daily check-ins, precise nutrition and high-intensity workouts. The structure was both motivating and intense. I noticed real progress in strength and body composition, though it required strict adherence and wasn’t always easy to sustain long term.

Takeaway: Fantastic for results and discipline, but you have to be ready to commit fully. I got to try and loved rope workouts with this program. Recipe book is great too.

Live Like Louise now rebranded Turtle Method

This program shifted my perspective from diet-focused to lifestyle-focused. With tracking tools, cycle awareness and a big emphasis on mindset, it felt less like a diet and more like a way of living. It encouraged me to think beyond quick fixes and embrace long-term habits.

Takeaway: A supportive, balanced approach that helped me focus on lifestyle rather than restriction. I really enjoyed the macro tracking with this program.

I got sucked into the boxing bootcamps when my partner signed up for a charity fight. The boxing bootcamps run by Gary brought a whole new intensity to my training. The sessions demanded speed, power and focus, and I loved the adrenaline and competitiveness of the sessions. Everyone motivates each other to never give up. Gary also ran women only sessions for a while which was great.

Takeaway: A brilliant way to build strength and fantastic group of people.

At Our Fit Hub, I discovered the power of community workouts. For 12 months I got up everyday to work out at 5.30am. The small-group circuit style training sessions give personal training vibes. And most importantly it's where I met Annie (AH Fitness Fusion) Training with her adds a personal and fun dimension to fitness. Her energy and guidance created a welcoming space that boosted my confidence.

Takeaway: Community and personal connection matter – sometimes more than apps or strict programs. A little expensive but i'd highly recommend if you don't enjoy gym environments.

Sometimes the simplest tools make the biggest difference. WalkFit turned something I already do, walking, into a purposeful, trackable habit. It's reminded me that not all fitness needs to be high-intensity to be effective.

Takeaway: A gentle, sustainable way to build movement into everyday life. Also brilliant if you are short of time or feeling a little fatigued.

Noom stood out as more of a psychological approach to health. It helped me understand my relationship with food, identify habits and make small, manageable changes. While I liked the mindset angle, I found the coaching less personalised than I’d hoped, especially for the cost.

Takeaway: Great for awareness and mindset shifts, but may not suit everyone long-term.

I used to go to spin classes at my local gym 6 days a week, but hybrid woking impacted the class timetable so i decided to invest in a Peloton. The immersive classes, live leaderboards and variety of instructors keep things exciting. Though the cost is definitely something to consider, it means I can work out whenever I like. To keep you accountable you can schedule classes with reminders. I also love the fact I can catch up on my TV programs whilst exercising – who doesn't love ticking two things off the list at once!

Takeaway: Perfect for convenience and motivation at home, provided you use it regularly to workout – and not as a clothes hanger – to justify the investment.

I've saved the best for last...

I met coach Jo through SPR. I loved her coaching style so I joined Team Ignite. It offers affordable online challenge-based structure with coaching and accountability. It pushed me to go harder in my training and reminded me how much progress comes from consistency and support. In terms of nutrition there is a full food or Herbalife options. The group element is really motivating and I've found it worked best when I was fully engaged. It's the only program I've ever wanted to continue whilst on holiday!

Takeaway: Best for those who thrive on team spirit and competitive challenges. If you're on a mission to condition this is for you.

Looking back, each of these experiences offered something unique:

  • Structure and discipline. SPR and Team Ignite pushed me hardest.

  • Lifestyle and mindset. Turtle Method and Noom helped me think long-term.

  • Community and personal support. Our Fit Hub/Annie’s coaching and WBWCB bootcamps brought connection and fun.

  • Convenience and accessibility. Peloton and WalkFit made fitness fit my life.

If I’ve learned one thing, it’s that there’s no 'one size fits all' in fitness. The best program is the one you enjoy enough to stick with. For me, a mix of structured challenges, community support and lifestyle-focused habits create the balance I need.
